I had heard that the Coby 224 DVD player plays region 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 DVDs but wasn't ready to believe it until I saw it. Sure enough I buy it, set it up, stick a DVD in from Europe and instantly the DVD played it, recognizing it as a region 2 DVD. I tried my DVDs from Australia and Japan and they too played like a dream. I didn't need to convert or follow instructions like a previous reviewer posted here; it played any region DVD right from the start and out of the box.If you've been putting off buying an expensive region-free DVD player (the ones that cost $140 up) look no further. This under $30 DVD player will do the same. The Coby 224 has a great picture but a lousy remote control. But who cares. It plays any DVD from around the world and that's good enough for me.
